Fredericksburg, TX

Crawfish Etouffee under the Festival sign

Texas held many surprises, one being this central-Texas town known for its German heritage. We happened through it on the right day in May 2019 when the Crawfish Festival was in full swing! There was live music, vendors and food carts. I sampled some crawfish etouffee, but Adonis opted for German fare at the Biergarten.

It was quaint to stroll up and down main street, poke around the local shops, museums and see what sights there were.

It was easy to park the van by the public park for the night and stroll around at our leisure. This stop led us into Texas hill country also known for its wineries. Did you know Texas had a wine country?! I sure didn't.

Not much further North was Enchanted Rock State Park, another surprise pop up that is well worth a stopover.

As always, we try to travel at the speed which allows for such wonderful surprises to come our way!
